Dr. Enoch E. and First Lady Marion Holloway serve Friendship Chapel in a multitude of ministries aimed at preaching and teaching all those with whom they come in contact.
Dr. Holloway graduated from St. Augustine 's College in 1970 with a BA degree in Business Administration and received his Masters of Divinity from Shaw University in Raleigh, NC in 1983. He furthered his theological studies to receive his Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC in 1998.
Dr. Holloway accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry and preached his initial sermon in May of 1980. He was called to the pastorate of Friendship Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC in September 1982 and continues to serve in that capacity to date.
Dr. Holloway's desire is that Friendship Chapel Baptist Church be a lighthouse in the community. He has implemented many ministries and programs and has had the vision to make sure that all who come are blessed by the encounter. During his years of service he has mentored many into the ministry and serves as field supervisor to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary master's and doctoral candidates.
In 1993 recognizing the need to promote better community relations, Dr. Holloway co-chaired and helped establish the Wake Forest Human Relations Council and the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee. He continues to serve the community through various organizations:
- Triangle AIDS Partnership of North Carolina
- Research Triangle Aids Interfaith Network,
- Human Relations Council of Wake Forest
- NAACP
- Unity and Harmony 2000
- Wake Baptist Association
- Board member and instructor of the JOBS Partnership of North Carolina.
Dr. Holloway works diligently to tear down walls of racism in the community and in 1999 was presented the Light of Hope award by the Wake County Board of Education. He was given the Bill Hogarth award for outstanding service by the Alliance of AIDS Services of the Research Triangle in 1991. He received the Outstanding Service Award presented by the Tri-county areas of Johnston, Cumberland, and Lee counties for services to the HIV/AIDS community in 2002.
He continues to serve as a facilitator for the Study Circles program, sponsored by the YWCA, in an effort to promote racial diversity in the community. He loves and promotes youth activities throughout the community and often encourages many youth initiatives at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church.
He continues to live the call to spread the gospel to all people groups and has preached extensively throughout the United States, and traveled to Cameroon, in West Africa, and Zimbabwe to preach and provide missionary support in those countries.
Dr. Holloway and First Lady Marion together have four children: Sharon (Les), Enoch Jr. (Valeria), Jenelle (Jason), and Yorel (Drew); and six grandchildren, Jaron, Shayla, Enoch III (Trey), Jacob, Camden, and Nicholas.
